Carcinogenicity
Carcinogenicity studies are carried out within the scope of biological risk assessment of medical devices in order to evaluate the tumorigenic potential that may occur by repeatedly applying polar/non-polar extracts obtained from medical devices and clinical monitoring throughout the life of the test system. Application is generally carried out by administering the extracts intraperitoneally, intravenously or as an implant. Carcinogenicity tests are evaluated in line with the principles specified in the ISO 10993-3 standard.
