Eye Irritation Test
To evaluate the irritating effects of medical devices on the eyeball and conjunctiva, polar and/or apolar extracts obtained from medical devices are applied to the eyes of rabbits as a single dose and the reactions are evaluated. The Eye Irritation test is generally preferred for medical devices that come into contact with the eye.
